Wildflower Lovers Gift Basket

Garden lovers gift basket!

Gift basket for one of my friends from the Vermont Wildflower Farm!

Fabulous news!

The REAL Vermont Wildflower Farm (which partly inspired my latest release It Happened One Night) has generously offered to give away a gift basket for garden lovers to one of my readers!

It’s worth about $150!

The VWF was instrumental in my writing It Happened One Night. As you know, each chapter in the book opens with a bit of folklore about a wildflower for each month of Lana’s pregnancy. But if it weren’t for the beautiful pictures on the VWF web site (and all their information about seed mixes and growing wildflowers) I would have had a much more difficult time writing the book! Their website was a huuuuge help!

wildflower gift basket Also, Diana (one of the owners) was kind enough to share her insights with me about owning such a wildflower farm, and a number of the anecdotes in the novel are straight from VWF.

And now, to celebrate spring, the VWF will give this garden lover’s gift basket to one of my readers (sorry it has to be US only; it’s a seedlings/customs thing). The winner will be announced at the end of the week on this blog!

So if you want to win this gift basket here’s what you have to do.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and when the empty form appears, fill it out and answer this question:

What is your favorite wildflower?

Thanks a million times to Diana at VWF for her beautiful website, for her help with It Happened One Night, and for celebrating spring with me!

Love to all!

I used to live in Bridgton Maine and every chance that we got we would head over to Vermont and New Hampshire. Wonderful memories during those years.

My favorite wildflower would have to be the Black Eyed Susan (I hope that is a wildflower).

    Thank you.

I love all flowers but my favorite as a kid used to be the purple clover. We used to make chains of them for our hair.

Now as a grown up I like buttercups and blue bonnets .

My favorite spring flower is the lilac.
Good luck with the new book
A basket with all the flowers and good things you have in it would be wonderful for my garden here in ohio. Hope I win.

When my now 31 year old son was a toddler he was my “sunshine boy” always asking to help me. He’d go into the yard and pick the wild violets and give me a handful. To this day he’s the one who will buy me flowers because his dad did and his dad did young and no longer can.

Violets, my favorite wildflower, is why we bought the land to build our home. The site of the lot covered with wild violets was breath taking!

When you visit Vermont be sure to stop in Grafton at the Grafton Cheese store and pick up some great cheddar to enjoy with your wildflowers and wine!

I always loved the “Wild Roses” that use to line the ditches along all our country roads. With all the spraying and farmers now planting and using the ditches for planting there are only a few :Wild Roses” that can be found growing in fields. Such a shame that they have been almost removed from the landscape. None to show our Grand children .

There are so many beautiful wildflowers, but my favorite is the bluebonnet. Their beautiful blue color is so different from the colors of most flowers and they blanket a field with that beautiful blue hue in the Springtime in a way that is truly breathtaking.
