So, you know I don’t gripe about books. I have no problem with other people’s gripe; it’s just not my thing.

Part of my refusal to not gripe comes from my belief that I can learn more about writing, reading, and life by looking at the positive–at stuff that’s working well, getting results, contributing in a positive way. I blog about what WORKS in good books, not what doesn’t work. Usually.

Cry like a baby

The Dangers of Reading

I’ve read some tear-jerkers. Jodi Picoult’s My Sister’s Keeper left me bawling. Audrey Niffenegger’s The Time Traveler’s Wife just killed me. But yesterday, this was the scene in my apartment.

I’m in my kitchen, and in theory I’m supposed to be cooking (a grilled tortilla wrap stuffed with hot sautéed mushrooms, garlic, onion, and provolone). But I just can’t seem to stop READING…
